About our Master of Wine

Dr Ron is one of only 258 Masters of Wine in the world and is the wine consultant to the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, His forté is hand-picking the wines for our cellars and food-wine pairing in our restaurants.

“My guiding vision is to make wine a multi sensory experience that moves us beyond taste and smell to one’s heart, spirit and mind” he says.

Dr Ron muses “Grapes fascinate me; this little round treasure is capable of tasting and smelling of everything but grape - like chocolate, coffee, wet dog, leather saddle, mountain herbs and exotic tropical fruits. A grape speaks not only of climate, soil and wine-making practise; it speaks of the culture, history, music, art and food of place and time.”

Blending all of these factors in new and unusual ways and presenting them through interactive wine concepts and events so that the experience is fun and non-threatening is the hallmark of his success.
